Honoree Tavistock Development Co. LLC’s office is so new, you may have been able to smell the fresh eco-friendly paint on the walls, if there was a smell.
The developer behind southeast Orlando’s 8,000-acre Lake Nona community has about 60 employees now working in the 2-month-old, 16,000-square-foot office in the Lake Nona Town Center office building, one of the area’s first to be built to the International WELL Building Institute standard for sustainability and wellness in the office.
New office space for Tavistock Development Co. LLC in Lake Nona features technology, collaboration and health and wellness features.
Tavistock Development partnered with Dais on technology and sustainability elements — like biometric security and interactive display walls — as well as with Little on office design and interiors, and Workscapes and Herman Miller for office furniture. The open office is designed to promote collaboration, sustainability, health and wellness with features such as sit-to-stand workstations, treadmill and bicycle desks, healthy food options and more.
“Tavistock Development’s core business is master-planned and mixed-use community development,” the company said in Coolest Office Spaces submission materials. “Many of the place-making and neighborhood-crafting skills used in large-scale development have been applied to this new office environment. The office is designed to promote collaboration, sustainability, health and wellness in the office.”
